Openspace is an awesome tool and has many different features that are helpful. What is a feature that you would like to see next on Openspace? I would love to be able to create a field note on a sheet and have that field note be visible on all future captures on that sheet.

@Cwahl That is something that I struggle with also. I would also like field notes to also stay after each capture.

I think Room Tags should be added to OpenSpace. Room Tags that can be toggled on/off for the walkthrough plan that shows the green path you walk on. This would make it easier to jump room to room and also easier for owners and for people who are new to large projects to see the rooms they want.

@KevLyons YES! I had that idea as well, almost like spaces in Bluebeam. We get daily metrics from Openspace and it would be nice to get that info in the capture breakdown. (What sheet was used for the capture and what “spaces/areas/rooms” were captured as well.)

@Cwahl @KevLyons I’m loving your ideas and the conversation here!
FYI - I moved this question (and associated replies) to the Product Ideas group to make sure your ideas can be seen by our Product team  Make sure to join that group if you haven’t yet! Let’s keep this idea exchange going :relaxed:

I think that would be a great idea both to show on the virtual view and on the expanded plans showing your route. With different cores/floors to a building it would streamline questions and RFIs when searching to visually see the issue. I wonder if that would be able to tie into the “Clearsight” program with progress tracking to identify completeness of rooms?

I think what might make this even easier if you could map out/draw the rooms once on the floor plan and then every field note that is created in that room is automatically tagged to that room.  There could be a simple room labelling UI where you could trace out a room(s) and give them names.

I think this was mentioned in another thread, but i think the automated time lapse would be great to show to clients and help easily show the value to people who may be skeptical.

I would like the ability to specify the minimum number of captures that are required on each job site per month.  If that number isn’t met, setup an email alert to notify another user to follow-up (PM, General Super, etc).

If there is an ability to extract the locations already established via Procore, that would be ideal. Or if you cannot connect to that data, allow us the ability to import our Procore locations via Excel/CSV. I’d still like to draw my rooms over the floorplans, however I want to assignee the locations so that they are identical to my Procore locations for consistency.

These are great ideas. Do folks setup locations/rooms/regions in other tools aside from Procore? Sounds like some people use Bluebeam Spaces. It’s possible we could have a tool agnostic feature to ingest the locations/rooms/regions data.

Yes, currently setup location/room in BIM 360. Would be great to ingest various BIM 360 data through Autodesk Forge. Which, OpenSpace already utilizes for the Model Viewer.

Hello! Thanks for all of the ideas on this thread. We are going to be hosting a product roundtable to learn more about what you want to see in the product related to locations, rooms, regions, and zones. There is a poll going in this thread to pick the best time for the roundtable!
