OpenSpace Product Recommendations

Hey Everyone, I’ve used the Insta360 OneX2 camera and Ricoh Theta Z1 Camera on my jobs so if anyone has any questions about these cameras let me know. I have a list of supplemental products in this list below if any is interested in getting these for a good deal.EX: Rechargeable battery pack, USB-C cables, camera pouch. Tablet I use is a Samsung Galaxy S5E.

OpenSpace Camera Supplemental Products

Hey Everyone,As the Black Friday Shopping is coming up, I thought I would share what I use in addition to my Insta 360 One X camera. I bet these products will be at a great discount in the next two weeks.In addition to the Insta360 One X camera, I use the NXT technologies rechargeable battery in the link below. Its awesome because the LED tells you how much battery you have and it can last about a day. Clearing Data From 360 Camera

How do you all handle space on the camera’s SD card? I have twice now came into an error when trying to capture that there is not enough space on the card. We are using insta 360 ONE X2 cameras. The fix has been to use the insta360 app to manually delete the oldest videos/captures.Is there a setting that makes this more automated? We have a 64 GB SD card currently and I could see using a bigger one, but it will still be an issue eventually. Thanks in advance for your help!

Vehicle Mounted Operation

For those OpenSpace users interested in capturing larger sites, we have combined our 360 camera with hitch mounted poles.  This allows the operator to stay in the vehicle cab around mobile equipment and with a slow idle, can cover rough terrain and larger areas much more effectively.  This mode of capture can stress the route reconstruction so results may vary but is definitely worth exploring for industrial projects.https://wonderpole.com/camera-pole/

Discussion of Underutilized OpenSpace Features

I feel like every time I go to an OpenSpace event or virtually attend Waypoint there is a load of features that I either didn’t know about or I knew they were there, but didn’t really find a use case for them.  Is there any interest in the community or on the OpenSpace team to maybe have like a monthly spotlight on a feature that you are finding that should be really powerful, but just isn’t seeing large scale adoption?  I think a lot of people fall in the categories of not knowing about it, not knowing how to use it, or in the case of feature addons, not knowing enough to justify the upgrade.  Let me know if anyone else shares the interest.

capture quality comparison

I was at Waypoint NYC where we were told the the Insta360 One RS 1” (I agree, horrible naming by them) is now supported. We were shown a slide that had a comparison of the quality of capture using that vs the previous model. We’re in the market for a new camera, and I was wondering if it would be possible to show a comparison of shots using the various cameras. Would be nice to know how all of the supported cameras stack up next to one another.

Video capture adoption by sub contractors

I recently went back to the first jobsite that I setup with OpenSpace for my company.  They were having an issue and wanted to photo capture every floor to document this particular day so although I trained some people to do captures they wanted a little help to divide and conquer the whole project (44 story building).  I also may have wanted to test my new Ricoh theta out…. What was awesome to see is that one of our subcontractors was walking the jobsite with a helmet camera.  So I immediately stopped him and asked what was up and it was a project manager who was testing out OpenSpace for use on their projects.  This is the same PM who has sat in coordination meetings on this site where we used the photos and walkthroughs from our captures and thought of the benefit it would have his company in documenting work in place and having a record to use for conditions.  Really was awesome to see and hopefully it gets a lot more adoption and less people ask why you are wearing a gopro on your

How large community villa projects are created and maintained inside OpenSpace.

How large community villa projects are created and maintained inside OpenSpace.For eg., Say there is Villa project which has 100 Individual Villa's and altogether its one complete project from the client/consultant to do regular monitor. There are lot of questions.How it will be created inside OpenSpace? Whether it will one single project (Main Community - Villa) with the sub-projects (Villa) created under the main project? How the main villa project will have a link with sub villa projects? How customer can switch from one villa to another villa?  How walk-through will take place? Overall report is available for Main project and Sub projects?

Construction Layout Robots

Does anyone have experience with construction robots? My company may be interested in purchasing one of the following robots below. These construction robots use printer ink with the robot aligning itself to control points and works off CAD drawings to create layout for walls and MEP work points on slabs.Dusty Robotics-DUSTYHP SitePrint. Funny to see HP make more than just printers lol.

Has anyone ever tried, or thought of using Openspace for exterior uses? What were your thoughts on it? I have wanted to us it for exterior inspections on buildings with a drone. Has anyone else thought of using a drone to help with captures or tried?

Best lighting accessory for camera

Team, Any opinions on the best 360 degree lighting accessories when using openspace in dark or low-light areas? We purchased the Halo lights from the Illumagear but had to improvise and add additional headlamps at angles at the blind spots. Field Notes Use Cases

I was curious as to how other companies and project teams are using Field Notes. We have a good number of projects using Openspace and they are doing awesome at capturing and using past captures but we are wanting to start getting teams to use Field Notes more. We would love to eventually start using it for punch list. Cant wait to hear the different workflows. Thanks!
